Cartoon Network has been known for its large catalog of shows over its lifetime, with 100+ shows since the channel’s creation. In the early days of Cartoon Network, shows were green-lit quickly and added to the channel’s roster. As of recently, this has changed, and shows take far longer to even be looked at. The pilot of a possible show named Infinity Train, which first aired on Cartoon Network on November 1st, 2016, took until March 2018 and a petition with 57,000 signatures before it was announced to be green-lit. The show was also made by Owen Dennis, the former storyboard director for Regular Show, one of the channel’s most popular shows when it was aired. Many new show creators do not turn to Cartoon Network with their new IPs, but instead Nickelodeon, as Nick has many shows in circulation constantly. Finally, Cartoon Network has lost touch with a majority of their audience.
